Offwind
It’s Time To Go Faster.
We make finding the right sail a much more simple process
Asymmetric
Deep Downwinder
Power and speed! This is a big, deep, powerful sail with broad shoulders for maximising area.
All Rounder
A flatter asymmetric spinnaker with less projected area. Not only does this mean a greater range of angles, but a more managable sail due to the flatter cut.
Cruising sailors may be used to the term ‘Cruising Chute’ and this is our more typical recommendation.
Symmetric
Deep Downwinder
A big projected area with broad shoulders, designed to get every last ounce of performance from your boat when running and broad reaching.
All Rounder
A slightly flatter sail with a focus on versatility. A much bigger effective angle range and our typical recommendation.
Tight Reach
Code Zero
The sail that caused so much uproar in the late 90’s, refined and perfected over time. A code zero has a lot more versatility than people give it credit for making it not only a necessary racing sail, but also a legitimate cruising sail.
Cruise Zero
This doesn’t hit the required mid girth for classifying as a downwind sail, which means it a little easier to trim. Made from a very light woven polyester for a little more longevity compared to the ultra-light soft laminates used in our Code Zero.
How Our Spinnakers Are Made
All of our offwind sails are made using sailcloth from Contender. They make the best spinnaker material which is renowned the world over. In order to make the very best sails and make them affordable (with every penny going into the build rather than admin) all of our spinnakers are single colour, though of course you can choose what that colour is.
We realise other sail lofts may let you choose as many colours as you like and mix and match them any way possible. However, we want to make the absolute best sails and make them affordable to everyone. Plus a single colour does, more often than not, look so much nicer.
All of our sails are a fully radial panel layout and we always stick seams before stitching. We never use seaming plates. Also we use dedicated Stormlite ripstop spinnaker edge tapes, rather than cheaper plain weave alternatives.
